About PolyWood
The advantages of PolyWood Recycled Plastic are hard to ignore. PolyWood absorbs no moisture and will NOT rot, warp, crack, splinter, or support bacterial growth. PolyWood is also compounded with permanent UV-stabilized colors, which eliminates the need for painting, staining, waterproofing, stripping, and resurfacing. This material is impervious to many substances, including salt water, gasoline, paint, stains, and mineral spirits. In addition, every PolyWood product comes with stainless steel hardware.

PolyWood is extremely easy to clean and maintain. Simple soap and water is all you need to get rid of dirt and make your furniture look new again. For extreme cleaning needs, you can use a 1/3 bleach-and-water solution. Most PolyWood furnishings are available in a variety of classic colors, which allow you to choose your favorite or coordinate with the furniture you already have. This is sure to be a piece that you will be proud to own for a lifetime.

Care

PolyWood material is made of HDPE plastic resin that has been purified and UV protected. It is generally cared for and cleaned with soap and warm water.

For certain stains and additional cleaning power, a 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water solution can be used on the product without affecting the color.

Also, a popular method of cleaning is a high-pressure power wash. (Not to exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent of a car wash.) The surface characteristics of the product may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases.

The hardware used in the assembly and construction of our furniture is an 18-8 commercial-grade stainless steel that has an additional Xylan protective and cosmetic coating. Although the quality of the hardware has a high level of corrosive resistance, the hardware can show some sign of corrosion in salt air environments.

A practical solution to these signs of corrosion would be to wash the product with soap and water. Use a soft bristle brush to scrub the corroding areas of the hardware. Also, use appliance touch-up paint in the appropriate color to protect the hardware. Appliance touch up-paint can be purchased at local hardware stores.

The pieces of this rocker are neatly cut with quite good machining of screw holes. I only had trouble with 2 of the holes but they gave me enough grief that I can't rate this aspect as perfect. Buy yourself a 5/32nd hex head screw bit for your drill and save yourself a macerated thumb and 20 min. I had stripped their little Allen wrench by the time I got it together. It is a sturdy chair well balanced on the rockers so that you don't feel as if you would fall over backwards if you rock vigorously. The hardware is hefty--three inch 16 ga stainless steel screws thinly painted white. It measures 30" from the base of the seat to the top slat so that I, at 5'3" can nicely rest my head against the back. My only complaint is its boxy design--I would have liked a little flare from back to front and the arms to be of 5/4 stock. It's an honest design, if not arty. The material looks like trex-type lumber but is not sticky/plastic feeling. [...] I plan on ordering a second one. I like the clean white lines and the fact that I can leave it out all year.

Comments about Polywood All-Weather Trade Wind Rocker Pair:

Love the design and material, but a little disappointed in the color. It looks orangy. The chairs rock great and are nice and big in the seat but low enough for me to put me feet on the ground - I am 5'3".

My husband said, "Buy two more", so I did. [...]They are so well made and sturdy. I am only 5'1" so I have issues with my feet hitting the floor. I can easily do that in these rockers. Also, because I am short, my head can rest on the back of the chair which I find very relaxing. My sons are big and tall and find them comfortable as well. For once, one size does fit all.

My husband said, "Order two more." As we assembled them it quickly became obvious just how well made they were. We are both short and were quite comfortable in them. As far as looks go, they look gorgeous on our new front deck. We have nothing bad to say about them. We just love them.
