Q1: Hi, Is your recycled plastic chair recyclable? When it eventually breaks, my intention is to cut it into pieces and put it in the recycle bin. Thanks.
A: Because this product is made of 100% polystyrene it is completely recyclable. Unlike other composite materials which are wood and polyethylene (and can not be recycled) our product is recyclable. As soon as two different materials are mixed together you can never recycle them. That is the main reason we have stayed away from mixing polystyrene with a filler material like wood floor. Wood composites tend to have black rot and mold when left outside for long periods. We also have 20% recycled content in our eon material which is the scrap we generate when starting a line. We grind up the out of spec material and put it back into all our Eon material therefore allowing for no waste during the process.
