I was very suprised when the ottoman arrived. It was made of heavy, solid wood. The color (quality of the wood) is lovely and blends well with the natural environment outside. I am certainly not mechanically gifted, but I had it assembled in 15 minutes. I wasn't going to purchase the ottoman at first, but I already had the bench and side table. I was so pleased with those two pieces, I thought I would complete the ensemble with the addition of the ottoman. The only problem that I have is that it is not high enough, but that could be just a personal preference. A very good buy and a good decision to buy it.

The size and finish matches the Richmond chairs, so the ottoman looks great pushed up against the chair. Very comfortable. The only con is that the construction is less than great -- the slats are out of alignment and the unit is a little wabble.
