We purchased this swing as a thank you gift for friends of ours who graciously allowed the use of there home for our wedding. We have an porch swing at our home already which had been passed down in the family which we use several times a week. We simply felt no porch should go without a swing hanging from the eaves and that our friends would love one as much as we do ours. I take issue with the craftsmanship of this product though it started out as a good "idea" I feel the finishing details were not paid attention to. In assembly I had to deal with mortise and tenion joints which weren't even close to fitting till I did considerable trimming. Hook bolts on the back mount point weren't even close to being long enough and required plaining of the arm assemblies and backrest on my part. One of the column nuts required me to run taps through the treads before it would tread because it had come galled onto the bolt in packaging. The directions while not entirely necessary for what should have been a fairly simple assembly were very incomplete and vague. The finish was spotty and required touching up in several places. What finally managed to put me over the edge was the swing hangers recommended on the site which we purchased additionally were to fat at the ring to connect with the carabineer attached to the chain. So I wasted the money on those and had to make a trip to the home center to find another means of hanging it. The bottom line is it seemed like no had ever tried to put one of these together at the factory prior to shipping them out. It wasted a lot of my time and energy to fix some one else's mistakes but did eventally turn out as a beautiful swing.
