Great American Woodies Red Cedar Classic Porch Swing

The Cedar Classic Porch Swing is made of western red cedar, an excellent and rich-looking wood that is kiln-dried for select-grade quality. The wood is then double-dipped in a UV-protectant oil stain for a rich and beautiful finish. Top it off with smoothly sanded edges and a contoured seat for a very comfortable swing. All edges are sanded smooth.

The Metal Comfort Springs will add a little bounce to your swinging good time. Constructed of high-strength chrome steel, which is zinc-plated and clear-coated to provide protection against the elements, these springs are wonderful shock absorbers. Tightly coiled together to create a smooth bounce, these springs enhance the comfort of your porch swing with every movement. The specially designed Swing-Mate spring creates a smoother swinging motion and allows a wide range of suspension. Each spring is capable of supporting 600 pounds.

Finally, add the Porch Swing Hangers to your swing and springs, and your experience is officially as comfortable as it can be. Crafted from durable metal, these hangers are meant to withstand the wear and tear of indoor or outdoor use. They are covered in ABS plastic, a high-impact, rust-resistant plastic that ensures the longevity of the piece. You will need to purchase 2.5-inch wood screws to mount the hangers to your porch. The Cedar Classic Swing brings together everything we love about porch swings. It is constructed of quality cedar wood, which is well-suited for outdoor use because it is rot-resistant and is a natural insect-repellent. A wide design and graceful arching backrest seat beckon to be enjoyed. The contoured-for-comfort seat never disappoints.

This wood is not pressure-treated. If your swing is exposed to a great deal of humidity, precipitation, and/or sun, as in coastal or mountain regions, we recommend you treat it with a sealant up to twice a year. If your swing will hang in drier conditions with less weather exposure, we recommend treating it anywhere from once a year to once every two years.

Hanging chains are 7 feet in length. Length from the top of the chain to the inverted "v" is 4.5 feet. This chain is a zinc-plated, 10-gauge wire, sometimes referred to as a double-loop or twin-loop chain. Hanging clearance will depend on how high you hang the swing and the force used to create a swinging motion.
